Trump delivered his first speech since losing reelection in November and his ban from Twitter at the 2021 CPAC convention held in Orlando Florida. A lot stood out in his speech about running again, Biden’s bad job and jabs at Republicans who voted to impeach him out of office. But one thing stood out to me that no one is talking about, the idea that he or we didn’t know how bad Biden would be. That is interesting!
I get it, the media didn’t ask Biden the tough questions. Biden got to sleep in late, campaign from a basement and hide behind Covid. It was almost too easy. Now yes, this could of just been a quip on Trump’s part but was there any truth to it? Do you really believe the Republican Party didn’t foresee how bad Biden would be? I believe so and here is why.
First, the Republicans let mail-in voting and absentee voting blow up tremendously because of Covid. Why would you do that when both are plagued with issues? Even countries like Mexico don’t like it. The right saw how disingenuous the media was while reporting on the blue mail boxes being stolen by Trump and the fear they were stoking. It was obvious Democrats wanted to increase the publics usage of vote in mail. And instead of making sure it was secure and safe, Trump decided to attack it, making the left ignore him and use it anyway.
According to my local Republican Board of Elections rep, Ossoff didn’t win my Georgia county’s vote but the number of mail-in ballots received were almost double that of Perdue’s in January’s runoff. It was like Republicans expected this these two elections to be run fairly and let the Democrats have their way hoping they had integrity. They must’ve not suspected how Biden would be to allow this to happen. No freaking way.
Next, is the election fraud. Many on the right still believe the election was stolen. My questions are about the preparation beforehand. The right knew the left was upset over 2016 and there were losses in 2018 winning the House back for Democrats. It seemed like no protocols were put into place to make sure no cheating was going on in 2018 and that it wouldn’t be repeated in 2020. No one double checked the security of the Dominion systems. There were no block chains on the ballots to catch cheaters. There was no secret plan. The right had nothing.
Allegedly, the Republican party had some covert secret plan to catch the left in being nefarious. And that was proven overwhelmingly false. It’s as if they really didn’t know that Biden and the left wanted Trump gone very badly. Wasn’t that the most obvious during the 2020 campaign?
We didn’t know how bad Biden would be. That sounds like yet another excuse that the Republican party has had for November’s loss and it is infuriating. Did we learn nothing from the loss in 2012 and the rise/defeat of the Tea Party. Biden has been in politics for 47 years and VP for eight. It isn’t like he doesn’t have a history of bad comments, racism and lies. He is not a new politician that came out of no where like Obama back in 2008. This man is the opposite of an outsider. He has been in office longer than I’ve been alive. How could we not see this coming?!
The lack of minority outreach, the missing coalitions inside battleground states and the constant infighting, showed the Republican Party took this election for granted. The right didn’t understand that the left wanted to win no matter what they had to do and by any means necessary. They even said as much. That included lying to their own base, and yes, even cheating. Heck, they don’t even care they screamed for four years about election fraud only to pretend now that they won, everything is a okay.
This piece isn’t to argue whether the election was stolen but to talk about how unprepared the right was for it to be. People are still acting surprised that it could happen after everything else the left has done. And that the Supreme Court did nothing about it.
When someone show you who they are, you are supposed to believe them. Trump may have been joking but it is obvious at least some Republicans did not believe how bad a Biden administration was going to be, and boy is it bad. Democrats keep showing the American people who they are and too many who claim to be their opposition simply do not see it.
We didn’t know is a terrible thing to say as we see the damage that Biden is doing on our rights, on women’s sports and on jobs during a pandemic. I hope eyes are opening and something gives in 2022. But I am not holding my breath.
