For the past nine months since the Michael Brown shooting, people have been taking to the streets in major cities to protest police departments. Some protests have been peaceful, but a large number of them have turned to chaos, with people looting and burning down businesses, attacking police, and chanting that they want dead police. You can stroll through Twitter accounts of all the Social Justice Warriors and they repeat the same nonsense that the people doing the bad things are in response to just the mere presence of police. If the police would leave, the crimes would go away. We can police our own cities, they say.
So police have seemingly backed off, making fewer arrests in the past month in places like Baltimore, scene of the latest riots protests, and shocker…the murder rate is at an all time high. The same is happening in other major cities across America.
NYC was the scene of a major protest calling for the deaths of cops a few months ago. As with Baltimore, some cities like New York have experienced more than double the number of homicides this May as compared to last year, and residents ain’t too happy about it. The New York Post reports that Brooklyn residents are pleading with Mayor de Blasio, who opposes a City Council plan to hire 1,000 more police officers, and telling him, “We need cops!”
Ohhhhhhhh! You need cops???? Guess they are learning the hard way that police really do protect and keep the peace.
