Last night, the Daily Beast broke a story about higher-ups in the U.S. military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) cooking intelligence reports to lessen the dangers and threats of ISIS in order to toe the President’s continued lies regarding the terrorist organization. In the exclusive report, the Daily Beast claims that 50 intelligence agents have filed a formal complaint regarding the matter. Because of the number of agents who have given the same claim, the Pentagon’s inspector general opened an investigation into the allegations of manipulated intelligence.
Two senior analysts at CENTCOM signed a written complaint sent to the Defense Department inspector general in July alleging that the reports, some of which were briefed to President Obama, portrayed the terror groups as weaker than the analysts believe they are. The reports were changed by CENTCOM higher-ups to adhere to the administration’s public line that the U.S. is winning the battle against ISIS and al Nusra, al Qaeda’s branch in Syria, the analysts claim.
That complaint was supported by 50 other analysts, some of whom have complained about politicizing of intelligence reports for months. That’s according to 11 individuals who are knowledgeable about the details of the report and who spoke to The Daily Beast on condition of anonymity.
Shocked? I’m not. I’m not shocked that this administration has been pants-on-fire lying to us for years. I’m not shocked that this administration will do whatever it takes, including turning a blind eye to mass murderers, in order to save Obamaface. After all, he was supposed to heal the planet, make foreign haters suddenly want to be all kissy-face with us instead of kill us, lower sea levels, and in general, just be totes awesome, right? And how dare anyone say he got something wrong. He’s the smartest man on Earth! Shut up you spies doing your spy-y spy stuff. ISIS is JV and losing! Obama says so!
I am shocked, but glad, that so many people are officially coming forward about it. Safety in numbers, I guess. How many people have we seen Obama throw under the bus when his perfectly perfect plans fail? Usually women, I might add.
Two of the officials who spoke to The Daily Beast said that analysts began airing their complaints in October in an effort to address the issue internally and only went to the inspector general when that effort failed. Some of those who complained were urged to retire, one official familiar with the report told The Daily Beast. Some agreed to leave.
And I will sport a giant shock-face if Democrats and mainstream news outlets outrage over this for a decade as they have over alleged reports that Bush and Cheney cooked intelligence reports because they “wanted” to invade Iraq.
After the IRS scandal, Benghazi, Hillary’s emailgate, the Bergdahl debacle, and Obamacarefail, will Obama’s chickens finally come home to roost if these allegations are true?
