Donald Trump needs to win 241 more delegates to clinch the Republican nomination. There are ten states which haven’t yet voted, and within those ten states there are roughly 500 delegates. This means Ted Cruz must win 52% of the remaining delegates in order for Republicans to have an open convention in July.
Indiana votes tomorrow and California votes June 7th. They are both winner take all states and represent 229 of the remaining delegates. You can divvy up the other eight states any way you like and what it boils down to is that Ted Cruz must win Indiana tomorrow if he hopes to stay in the race. If Trump wins Indiana, he will only need to win California and one other state in order to secure the nomination.
I’m normally a pretty optimistic person, but I believe deep down in my heart that if Cruz does not win the Republican nomination then we may forever lose our chance to stop the erosion of our freedoms.
Those of you from Indiana, please vote tomorrow. If you know anyone in Indiana, please reach out to them and encourage them to vote tomorrow. Talk to them about the future of our freedoms–the future of our country.
As for the rest of us, I would encourage us all to do what each of us does when we need help with a problem but can’t do anything to control the situation. If you pray, then pray. If you reach out on social media and talk to strangers, then do that. If you meditate on positive thoughts, then make those thoughts extra-super-positive in your meditation today and tomorrow. Whatever it is that you do, do it. Our country might depend on it.
