Yesterday was quite a disappointment for conservatives. As you know, Donald Trump won over 50% of the vote in Indiana, securing nearly all 57 delegates from that state. And if that wasn’t disappointing enough, Ted Cruz decided to suspend his campaign, stating that there was no clear path to winning the nomination anymore as the reason. You can listen to his speech here.
Donald Trump gave a very un-Donald-like speech after his victory over Ted Cruz in Indiana and after hearing Cruz was suspending his campaign. He dropped the “Lyin’ Ted” nickname and called Cruz a tough competitor. There was no mention of the JFK assassination. He also spoke of uniting the republican party. You can listen to the entire speech here.
John Kasich has vowed to stay in the race, though no one knows why. He has 157 delegates and would need 1,080 of the remaining 450ish delegates. Grasping at straws would be an understatement. But maybe he’s continuing to fight the good fight in hopes of keeping Trump from reaching 1237. Who knows.
Whatever you’re feeling today, take today and feel it. Vent. Scream. Get angry. Cry. But tomorrow, we need to continue fighting. Fighting for our country. Fighting for our freedoms. We can never give up.
***Update: 11:05 am CST–Multiple news sources are reporting that John Kasich has now suspended his campaign.
