You know those ads that pop up on websites pertaining to things you’ve recently searched on the internet? If you’ve been online shopping for shoes, shoe ads appear on random websites that use the technology available to track your internet browsing. The companies can use your location, your IP address, and other things to try to direct you to what you are looking for in your area. I personally find it annoying, but it’s really no different from mailing ads to a target audience, or running commercials during the time your target audience will most likely be watching television.
Well, the pro-choice pro-baby-killers are mad about it.
Pro-life groups have taken advantage of the technology and are targeting people looking for information on abortion by using ads to let women know they can choose life.
OH NOES! A CHOICE! Can’t have that!
Oh the excuse they use is that when these ads track you, especially when you use your phone, it invades your privacy and someone within the pro-life group can use the GPS in your phone to track you down to an abortion clinic and harm you. So really, the baby killers are just worried about your privacy and safety since they know most people who value life are crazed killers.
There’s no evidence the technology has been used in this manner. The only thing that has happened is that women seeking abortion are getting access to another choice besides abortion.
I wonder why these same people aren’t worried about some crazy person working for Nike or Ralph Lauren doing the same thing? Why aren’t they super worried about your privacy and safety? Do they not care????
Isn’t it funny that groups claiming they are pro-choice want to deny women access to a choice? (See I can use trigger phrases too.)
