Yesterday in a news conference with Diane Feinstein and Mark Warner regarding ties people in the Trump Administration might have with Russia, Chuck Schumer has suddenly decided that making sure emails don’t get deleted needs to be a super priority.
I couldn’t find the video of the press conference I was watching so you can see for yourself, but I did find an article with the quote. Really though, there should be video of my jaw hitting the floor when I heard these words.
“There is real concern that administration, transition and campaign officials may try to cover up ties to Russia by deleting emails, texts and other records that could shine a light on those connections,” Schumer said at a press conference outside the Senate chamber following the meeting.
He said such electronic records are “likely to be the subject” of congressional investigations and “must be preserved.”
Schumer, flanked by Sens. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) and Mark Warner (Va.), the ranking Democrats on the Judiciary and Intelligence committees respectively, demanded that all records of contact between Trump’s campaign, transition and administration officials be preserved.
Here’s hoping that no one on the Trump team tries to wipe any servers with a cloth.
