Today is election day 2017, and two Governor’s races are perhaps the two most consequential races in off-year elections. In New Jersey, Chris Christie’s Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno faces former Goldmann Sachs executive Phil Murphy. While in Virginia, Republican Ed Gillespie faces against Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam.
One common human (and Stephen L. Hall’s) failing is rationalization; we are all prophets after the fact. So I ask you, before polls close, to give your predictions about today’s marquee races, or other races you may care about.
My predictions:
New Jersey Governor’s race:
It’s a landslide for the Democrat; Phil Murphy by 14.
Virginia Governor’s race:
Close, but no Cigar; Ed Gillespie falls short, and Ralph Northam wins by 3.
