Happy Monday FRians!! Today’s post comes to us from Mrs.P! Thsmk you ma’am. Have a great day everyone.
I live in Georgia and the 2020 election is shaping up to depend on us. First, we were considered a swing state for the Presidential race. Now, the Senate remaining red is dependent upon our runoff election in January. Lastly, some funny business with poll workers, counting and a supposed water leak has troubled the state.
With all this in mind, I have decided to get off my butt and contribute what I can; after all I do live here. I was anonymous for years online and gave my opinion here and there. After about twelve years, I ended up being a blog writer, podcaster and active in my local area. All of this in order to help Georgia stay red, which is most beneficial to the state.
My first task was to talk to the RNC leason for Black Outreach Kevin Daniels. It was a quick meeting since he happened to be in the Macon, Georgia area 30 minutes from my home. I also invited Stacey Lonnex from PJ Media, because she has lived in Georgia longer than I have and has better knowledge of the Northern part of the statepolitics.
This conversation was over food at the Macon Scratch Kitchen restaurant. We talked about getting on the ground to help canvass for this upcoming election. Daniels was able to tell us the RNC’s role in this campaign, their supporting efforts and what they were looking for us in conservative media to do. I asked questions about the outside donors helping dems and what the plans from the RNC machine was to combat that. He already contacted county GOP representatives across the state to give them tools. Stacey was able to tell us how the northern GOP was out on the ground and the issues with voting. We had a very in depth discussion that left us all motivated and more of an idea how we can help.
One takeaway from the meeting I had was that I needed to do more in real life. Although I have a growing social media presence and I am connected to up and coming conservative influencers, my real life work was lagging. So I took it upon myself to contact my local GOP and get set up with our monthly meetings. I already gave them an idea to do a food drive forSaturday December the 5th. I haven’t attended any rallies because of my little children, so I support them where I can. My other ideas include a neighborhood clothing drive and a clean up. I also want to do a fundraiser for local shelters to help area homelessness. A lot of people complain about the party or about changesneeded, but that takes risk and putting ourselves out there.
This post isn’t about me humble-bragging about my efforts. It is to give you a picture of how intense this election is and how we need all hands available to help. At first I thought outsiders just came to Georgia for the overall Senate implications of this election and not caring about Georgians. I was wrong and admitted it. This election can decide who gets to vote on bills, confirm judges and hold committee meetings. We need all the help we can get and I cannot ignore those offering to do it.
If a disabled combat veteran and mother of 2 can help out, you can too. Sometimes the people we need to Keep us RED is the very people inside of us.
