Today’s post was written by Rey Gonzalez. Very well done, sir.
There’s another elephant in the room no one dares discuss for fear of being labeled some kind of ___ist.
Caution: whether you are or not, you will be labeled, doxxed and cancelled. It’s the new normal. SJW are a dime a dozen and sit in their parent’s basement, unemployed, ready to pounce. I dare bring it up aware of what may occur, but my point is not me being targeted; my point is all about bringing discussion and debate to what many called taboo talk no more than 40-50 years ago; discussions best kept in-house.
I’m referring to the daily barrage of TV commercials by major corporations openly displaying gay and LGBTQ actor portrayals, mixed marriages and nudeness. One example of nudeness is underwear commercials. They used to be presented not worn. Now we have persons displaying their wares under their underwear.
I’m no marketer of ads or partake in no viewing test group prior to release, but such does occur. What occurs to me is why do these major corporations have taken this route to sell their products? Wokeness?
Debates include that such ads are meant for inclusion of all people regardless of race, sex, religion, sexual orientation, etc. I agree with that premise. We established federal laws years ago. We can also argue that such ads create division. Will such ads negatively affect religious groups, anti gay/lesbian/nudeness on TV folks? Perhaps these ads are targeting those gay/lesbian/nudeness on TV folks these corporations want to be consumers of their product. Some folks may or will become alienated with such premise. Fortunately, in this country we have choices.
I’m no fan of boycotts, especially if the product is a good product. I’m no fan of calling for someone’s resignation either. No, not my thing. Last I checked, any person, regardless of race, sex, religion or sexual orientation (having the capital and or credit to do so) can go to any restaurant, store, car dealership, order on line, buy groceries, gas, real estate, etc., and no merchant will inquire as to who or what they are.
This post has nothing to do with being anti anything, but what I’ve written will be inferred by some as such. I can speak/write my position on a given topic. I’m not anti gay/lesbian. I’m not anti bi-racial marriages/unions. I’m not anti nudeness. I can repeat it many times to make it clear, but some folks can’t see that because of course, some kind of _____ist keeps them from critical thinking. And of course, the debate is over; they win. What others infer is their problem, not mine. This post simply raises the question of what is the intent of such ads. Will it unite or divide the consumer? Will some people be intrigued by a product based on the actor portrayals? Will some people personally, and without fanfare of any kind, boycott such products
TTFN FRers.
