Trump’s potential vice presidents

Thanks Rey for your thought-provoking write-up.

There is now a little less than six months until election day and a Vice President running mate must be announced before the GOP presidential nomination in about two months, in Milwaukee.

In my opinion, if he wins in November, Trump will reenter office as a lame duck, a four-year term. He will have accomplishments, but he’ll be the designated hitter of sorts. That means that his VP choice will need to, or must be his apprentice in order to have an inside track to replace him in 2028.  Keep in mind that the two current front-runners in this presidential race hold the title for “oldest president in history,” which brings into focus the validity of a VP that can continue the course, while maintaining a young voting bloc of all groups. Of course, gender and ethnicity will play significantly in most media.

I remain undecided as to who I would strongly support for the VP slot, given those names being reported as potential picks. Besides, what vote do I or any of us have in a VP selection. And recent polls are just that, polls. Below, I have listed a few names, in no particular order, as to who it may be. Peruse at your leisure and comment accordingly.

Gov Doug Burgum ND: A white male, businessman from a state with 3 electoral votes

Sen Marco Rubio FL: Little Marco is known for shifting views with some issues, according to which way the wind blows, but mainly a little RINO

Rep Elise Stefanik NY: Coming up in R circles and fierce in her debates. Won’t turn the State to a Trump-voting State

Sen JD Vance OH: Young man with ties to the more conservative Silicon Valley types, but he will butt heads with Trump

Sen Tim Scott SC: will be a historic choice (skin color) as the first Black Republican from the South

The rest of the pack

Representative Byron Donalds
of Florida
Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida
Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy
Former Representative Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii
Former HUD Secretary Ben Carson
Governor Glenn Youngkin of Virginia
Governor Kristi Noem South Dakota
